LIBRARY--Saturday Hours SuspendedNovember 27, 2008 The Monroe Community Library will no longer be open Saturdays from 9-Noon. We will be closed starting Saturday November 1 until further notice at the request of the selectmen. It will conserve fuel, but low use of the library on Saturdays was also a consideration. A Call for Firewood!October 18, 2008 To all Monroe residents: We would like to be able to offer firewood to local citizens in need this fall and winter. If you have cut and split firewood of any size that you can spare, please call the Town Hall at 525-3515. THANK YOU! ATTENTION Waldo County Business OwnersOctober 18, 2008 Fall and Winter are fast approaching, with the subject of what we can do for our senior population being a priority. Since everything we do would cost money, the Waldo County TRIAD would like to try a different approach this year. We will be asking businesses in Waldo County to allow us to put a collection box at their business site to gather coats, hats, shawls, heavy socks, and sweaters. These will be picked up weekly, and cleaned before being distributed. We are looking forward to the warmth and comfort this will bring to our senior population. Check Monroe's RIDES BOARD to see if anyone is going your way! If you have space in your vehicle and would like to offer a ride, this is a great place to post it.
